Air Temperature (TEMP) and Relative Humidity (RH) Sensor Assembly

The WeatherHawk air temperature and relative humidity replacement sensor module is sold as a sensor set (P/N 14144), and it can be ordered on-line under Replacement Parts. Sensor installation is a remove and replace operation with no calibration required.

The temperature sensor is a 10K thermistor.

The relative humidity (RH) sensor is an ETC HM2000 Series precision bulk-polymer device with custom low-power ASIC circuitry in a miniature package to produce a calibrated, fully linearized 0-1 VDC humidity output signal for 0% to 100% RH.

Barometric Pressure (BP)

The barometric pressure sensor is not repairable, but a replacement sensor module is availableas a PC board. This part is called the Panel Board (14127), and it can be ordered on-line under Replacement Parts. Panel board installation is a remove and replace operation with no calibration required. If a user prefers that the sensor be factory replaced they should contact Weather Hawk Customer Service at 1-866-670-5982, and obtain an RMA number before returning the WeatherHawk for repair.

The barometric pressure sensor is a Motorola MAP sensor designed to sense absolute air pressure. The MAP sensor integrates on-chip, bi-polar op-amp circuitry and thin film resistor networks to provide a high output signal and temperature compensation.

Wind Speed (WS) and Wind Direction Sensors (WD)

The wind speed and direction replacement sensors are sold separately and can be user installed without the need for calibration after installation. The wind direction sensor will need to be aligned on the WeatherHawk body shell with respect to the North reference indicated on the Quick Start Guide documentation originally delivered with the WeatherHawk system.

Rainfall Measurement Sensor (RG)

The rainfall measurement sensor is sold as a complete, pre-calibrated sensor module (P/N 14012), and it can be ordered on-line under Replacement Parts. The module incorporates a unique, patented (worldwide) tipping spoon design, which self empties following each measurement increment.

Solar Radiation (SR)

The solar radiation sensor is a silicon pyranometer. It is sold as a replacement unit (P/N 14009), and it can be ordered on-line under Replacement Parts.

Operating temperature: -40 to +55 deg C (0 to 100% rH) (-40 to +131 deg F)
Accuracy: +/- 2% Range: 0-2000 Wm-2 (NOTE: full sunlight = 1000 Wm-2)

Battery Pack (BP)

The WeatherHawk rechargeable battery pack is located inside the WeatherHawk body shell. It is a user replaceable YUASA NP0.8-12, 12 volt, 0.8Ah sealed lead-acid battery pack (P/N 14159), and it can be ordered on the WeatherHawk web site under Replacement Parts. The battery pack is delivered fully charged as a Plug-and-Play replacement part for the WeatherHawk. (NOTE: If a YUASA NP0.8-12 battery is purchased from a battery supplier it may lack the proper connector for WeatherHawk.)
